About Ruwais
Ruwais is a town located approximately 240 kilometers west of Abu Dhabi city. It is the home of ADNOC and its subsidiary companies – TAKREER, GASCO, FERTIL and BOROUGE. Ruwais Industrial and Housing Complex was developed by ADNOC as a major contributor to the national economy and represents a series of multi-million-dollar investments by the company. The complex has its own shops, schools, banks, mosques, clinic, hospital, movie centre, and a wide range of sporting and leisure amenities including a beach club and an 'in-house' TV and video stations.
Over the years, Ruwais has evolved from a small and peaceful community to becoming one the busiest yet highly secured area in UAE. The place is highly conducive to live especially for families. Social activities are organized by the company to employees and their families on a regular basis, either within or outside Ruwais. Due to the current expansions by ADNOC companies, Borouge being its frontrunner, more buildings and a new shopping mall are being constructed to address the increasing number and need of its employees and the Ruwais community as a whole.
