Recruitment fraud and scam alert

Please be aware that Borouge has been receiving notices from candidates seeking clarification of job offers and recruitment propositions they receive. These job offers come from organisations or individuals who are falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of the Abu Dhabi Polymers Company (Borouge) or by people claiming to work for, or are affiliated, to Borouge. In return, they ask the recipients of the job offers to transfer a significant sum of money to pay for certain employment requirements such as visa, etc.

Please note that neither Borouge nor any of the legal organisations that recruit on our behalf ask for any money or payments from applicants at any point throughout the recruitment process. All the successful individuals who have been directly or indirectly provided with job offers from Borouge are always required to go through a formal recruitment process. All communications with this regard should originate from a verifiable Borouge email address (borouge.com) and not from an internet email addresses such as hotmail, yahoo or others.

What you need to do…

• Do not respond to unsolicited job offers from organisations or email addresses that you do not know or trust especially when you have not applied nor gone through any interview with Borouge yet

• Do not disclose your personal or financial details to anyone you do not know or trust or on a website you are not familiar with

• Be aware and look out for suspicious signs such as communications from non-Borouge email addresses, poor use of English and materials and requests for fees or money

About the Job

Reporting to the Department Manager, you will be part of the Corporate Governance team and you will be responsible for:

General & Strategic

  • Assist in developing strategic and operational plans for the Department
  • Develops and update standard instructional documents / procedures for the Department and ensure effective discharge of Department’s functions
  • Organize and manage document control mechanism for the department
  • Proactively perform research and track developing trends / best practices in risk management and business continuity procedures and contribute to the knowledge base of the department
  • Develops training materials to assit the Department Manager in conducting training and workshops across the organization on various topics relevant for risk assessment and assurance
  • Provides work direction to Trainees

Planning & Preparation

  • Develop annual risk management schedule, objective, scope and approach for assigned risk assessment for review and approval from risk management and business continuity manager
  • Prepare the risk assessment and controls testing programs and checklists
  • Gathers and complies with the requirements of professional standards in identifying risks and determining risk ratings

Execution of Risk Management Review

  • Performs delegated risk management reviews in accordance with the approved procedures and risk management objectives of the organization
  • Ensures completeness and accuracy in risk management reviews
  • Obtains, analyses and formulates an objective and independent opinion on the risks, their likelihood and adequacy and effectiveness of mitigating controls
  • Identify risks resulting from design deficiencies in processes / controls and ensure that they are adequately reported
  • Prepares detailed work-papers of risk management reviews to ensure that evidence has been well documented

Quality Assurance & Issuance of Final Report

  • Prepares and / or assists in the preparation of formal written risk assessment reports, for review and feedback with stakeholders before submission to senior management
  • Prepares and / or participates in oral or written presentations to concerned departments and functions, as appropriate, during and at the conclusions of risk management reviews, to establish the accuracy of findings, discuss deficiencies and recommend corrective actions

Corrective Action Tracking

  • Review critical findings in risk assessment reports and ensure that corrective action / remediation plans are developed and executed by respective departments / functions within agreed timescales
  • Review / assist implementation of management action plans and verify effective closure
  • Ensure timely escalation of high risk areas, critical findings and non compliances requiring urgent management action

Departmental Reviews & Reporting

  • Provide reports on a regular basis and as directed or requested by Department Manager to update the information on progress of risk management reviews
  • Ensure that as per the departments’ requirements a periodic structured reporting of key risks, risk ratings, mitigation plans, and status of mitigation plans is done
About you

As a successful candidate, you will possess:

Knowledge:

  • Degree in Finance/ Business/ Economics or Accounting.
  • In-depth knowledge / exposure in applying or auditing Risk Management (ERM) frameworks in large multi-national organizations is required
  • In-depth knowledge / exposure in applying business continuithy in large multi-national organization is required
  • Thorough knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management, International risk assurance and management standards / best practices is preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum 6 years experience of risk management and business continuity, preferably in the oil and gas or petrochemical industries

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Risk Management Frameworks, business continuity and related international standards
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to details, to review and analyse information / situations and identify / articulate the risks and propose solutions
  • Ability to work with multi cultural teams and ability to negotiate and communicate with all levels of management / colleagues on matters related to risk and controls
