Recruitment fraud and scam alert

Please be aware that Borouge has been receiving notices from candidates seeking clarification of job offers and recruitment propositions they receive. These job offers come from organisations or individuals who are falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of the Abu Dhabi Polymers Company (Borouge) or by people claiming to work for, or are affiliated, to Borouge. In return, they ask the recipients of the job offers to transfer a significant sum of money to pay for certain employment requirements such as visa, etc.

Please note that neither Borouge nor any of the legal organisations that recruit on our behalf ask for any money or payments from applicants at any point throughout the recruitment process. All the successful individuals who have been directly or indirectly provided with job offers from Borouge are always required to go through a formal recruitment process. All communications with this regard should originate from a verifiable Borouge email address (borouge.com) and not from an internet email addresses such as hotmail, yahoo or others.

What you need to do…

• Do not respond to unsolicited job offers from organisations or email addresses that you do not know or trust especially when you have not applied nor gone through any interview with Borouge yet

• Do not disclose your personal or financial details to anyone you do not know or trust or on a website you are not familiar with

• Be aware and look out for suspicious signs such as communications from non-Borouge email addresses, poor use of English and materials and requests for fees or money

About the Role

Reporting to the VP, Business Centre, you are responsible for developing, implementing and sustaining commercial best practices across commercial functions and regions, where this role will act as a “change agent” in the organization. 


Key Accountabilities

Benchmarking & Gap Assessment:

  • Regularly benchmark commercial performance of the organization internally and externally vs. industry
  • Conduct gap assessment and identify opportunities to drive effectiveness in all aspect of commercial activities
  • From the gap assessment analysis, translate and develop long term road map of initiatives that align with the strategy and goals of the company  

 Develop & Drive Commercial Excellence Initiatives:

  • Prepare plans in line with the long term road map to execute the initiatives through disciplined form of project management and deliver the milestones on the timely manner
  • Manage the resource allocation by engaging partnership with other function head and/or region key stakeholders as project leader and/or team members to run the project where these resources have no direct reporting lines as such power to influence is essential
  • Act as overall Program Manager to be the champion for the organization in developing, designing and implementing key initiatives in areas like but not limited to:
    • Pricing Excellence
    • Cost and Margin Analysis
    • Customer Management
    • Customer Segmentation
    • Commercial Offerings
    • Value Proposition 
    • Sales Force Effectiveness
    • Channel Management
    • Performance Management
    • Competency Excellence
    • IT tools
  • For each gap assessment that can be complex in nature, identify and evaluate the fundamental issue to understand clearly the root causes, provide the strategy and direction to the project team before implementing any solution in order to achieve successful outcome
  • Engage and challenge the project teams to explore all potential ideas, methodologies, techniques, and solutions by thinking outside the box, ultimately shape up the idea with strategic thinking and vision ahead to find the most strategic decision for implementation
  • Promote and run campaigns of the changes to the organization in terms of communicating effectively the key objectives, deliverables and measurement so that it is ingrained and reflected in the way of working based on improved business process
  • Network both internally and externally to ensure that Commercial Excellence team are executing the project plan gaining the support and approval

Performance Management:

  • Deploy and drive governance around the implemented initiatives
  • Develop and monitor KPI dashboard for regular review and recommend corrective actions with cross function and cross region leadership teams as well as with Executive Team
  • Collect feedback to drive continuous improvement of commercial process, sales capabilities, tools and supporting systems

Cross Functional Team Leadership:

  • Conduct regular review and discussion to the senior leadership team on key initiatives progress and achievements, internal benchmark performance among regions
  • Communicate regularly to regional sales management leadership on regional performance, identify gaps and recommend solutions to achieve the best in class performance
  • Work with project managers assigned from various functions/regions whom have no direct reporting lines, where engagement and influencing without power of authority are the key leadership traits

People Management:

  • Oversee 3 commercial excellence leaders to manage and support the key initiatives using i5 project management approach
  • Coach and empower commercial excellence leaders to drive governance of the implementation

Project Management:

  • Provide project management support to the CEO for managing and executing business related projects in Borouge Pte Ltd
  • Develop the project plan by working closely with other functional leaders to get a clearer picture of what the project can achieve and communicate the plans effectively
  • Ensure the team achieves the project's deliverable without unnecessary delays by optimizing resource allocation to boost efficiency and achieve committed milestones
  • Monitor and direct the progress of a project by identifying which tasks are worthy of high priority to ensure timely execution
  • Liaise with other functions to ensure process alignment between commercial, IT, supply chain, finance and legal departments

Qualifications and Experience
  • Business/ Economics/ Engineering Degree
  • MBA preferred
  • Minimum 15 years relevant working experience in petrochemical or similar or related industry
  • Thorough understanding of customers and value chain segments
  • Thorough knowledge of marketing and sales management techniques and tools
  • Strategic thinking
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong analytical skill – with attention to detail combined with the ability to see big picture
  • Self-initiative and ability to propose pragmatic new ideas / approaches
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills – ability to communicate effectively with senior management, colleagues and internal/external customers.
  • Ability to manage key stakeholders in a large, complex and evolving organization and achieve alignment
  • Strong team player to build key stakeholder relationships, developing a continuous improvement culture and facilitating best practice sharing.
