Please be aware that Borouge has been receiving notices from candidates seeking clarification of job offers and recruitment propositions they receive. These job offers come from organisations or individuals who are falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of the Abu Dhabi Polymers Company (Borouge) or by people claiming to work for, or are affiliated, to Borouge. In return, they ask the recipients of the job offers to transfer a significant sum of money to pay for certain employment requirements such as visa, etc.

Please note that neither Borouge nor any of the legal organisations that recruit on our behalf ask for any money or payments from applicants at any point throughout the recruitment process. All the successful individuals who have been directly or indirectly provided with job offers from Borouge are always required to go through a formal recruitment process. All communications with this regard should originate from a verifiable Borouge email address (borouge.com) and not from an internet email addresses such as hotmail, yahoo or others.

What you need to do…

• Do not respond to unsolicited job offers from organisations or email addresses that you do not know or trust especially when you have not applied nor gone through any interview with Borouge yet

• Do not disclose your personal or financial details to anyone you do not know or trust or on a website you are not familiar with

• Be aware and look out for suspicious signs such as communications from non-Borouge email addresses, poor use of English and materials and requests for fees or money

About the Role

You will proactively support the Growth team in the areas of data management, reports registry maintenance, forecasting model, competitor analysis, market trends, olefin/polyolefin production economics and professional market analysis. You will also liaise with Strategy & Market Intelligence in alignment of market intelligence figures, database and planning. You must be able to adopt influencing communication with scientific data and facts, and to maintain relevant tools, systems and procedures for the department.

Key Accountabilities

Market Intelligence

  • Support the Growth team with high quality market intelligence material (timely reports and analysis) related to historical reporting and outlook on products, applications, geographies, and competitor analysis
  • Prepare the regular market and industry outlook analysis reports, monitor market pricing, production plant operations and margin developments across regions
  • Conduct industry analysis through primary and secondary research and develop internal insights about the market development
  • Contribute to maintain structural integrity and accuracy of Market Intelligence databases (MI Database) and upload with latest updates from relevant sources and ensure availability for planning purposes, i.e. pricing reference & business planning
  • Coordinate and control subscription requests/ renewals with various stakeholders in accordance to procedures, and maintain updated registry on reports procured
  • Maintain electronic Market Intelligence library for knowledge management and ensure that sharing of online intelligence is compliant with all licensing agreements
  • Gather & validate market intelligence through active interactions & collaborations internally and externally
  • Assist Growth team in organizing projects and take lead in projects from time to time
  • Monitor and track competitor landscape analysing major competitors’ strategies to support strategic direction of Borouge
  • Support company strategy development and updates with accurate and up-to-date market intelligence information and insights

Internal Communications & Working Relationships

  • Develop liaisons with suitable information sources regularly with internal stakeholder groups for data gathering and validation
  • Participate as a proactive member in meetings to support the Growth Project team
  • Frequent contact with cross-functional teams, e.g. Sales & Marketing, Pricing, Strategy & MI, Controllers, etc
  • Regular knowledge sharing with stakeholders through regular meetings and presentations

External Communications & Working Relationships

  • Maintain the relationship with external consultants regularly to coordinate on subscriptions
  • Develop and maintain regular contact with relevant industry organizations to gather information



Experience & Qualifications
  • University degree or higher in Economics, Business, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Business or marketing experience
  • Good insights of petrochemical market dynamics and economics
  • Understanding on markets, competitors, value chain and macro-economic analysis
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of related work experience in data analysis, report writing, business consulting and database management
  • Strong business writing skills
  • Strong presentation, communication and interpersonal relationship skills
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and understanding of Chinese will be of added advantage
  • Understanding the liquid chemical (C4 and Benzene stream) industry and petrochemical value chain
  • Diagnostic information, analytical and logic thinking
  • Business reporting writing
  • Process control and governance
