Recruitment fraud and scam alert

Please be aware that Borouge has been receiving notices from candidates seeking clarification of job offers and recruitment propositions they receive. These job offers come from organisations or individuals who are falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of the Abu Dhabi Polymers Company (Borouge) or by people claiming to work for, or are affiliated, to Borouge. In return, they ask the recipients of the job offers to transfer a significant sum of money to pay for certain employment requirements such as visa, etc.

Please note that neither Borouge nor any of the legal organisations that recruit on our behalf ask for any money or payments from applicants at any point throughout the recruitment process. All the successful individuals who have been directly or indirectly provided with job offers from Borouge are always required to go through a formal recruitment process. All communications with this regard should originate from a verifiable Borouge email address (borouge.com) and not from an internet email addresses such as hotmail, yahoo or others.

What you need to do…

• Do not respond to unsolicited job offers from organisations or email addresses that you do not know or trust especially when you have not applied nor gone through any interview with Borouge yet

• Do not disclose your personal or financial details to anyone you do not know or trust or on a website you are not familiar with

• Be aware and look out for suspicious signs such as communications from non-Borouge email addresses, poor use of English and materials and requests for fees or money

About the Role

You will be responsible to lead all new investment related intiatives for the company and serve as the key interface and project lead to internal and external stakeholders for the growth projects.


Key Accountabilities

Project Management

  • Manage the major investments and partnership projects of the company
  • Lead the cross functional teams to deliver the preparatory work and feasibility study for the investment projects, including scope of go-to-market strategy, market opportunity assessment
  • Align internally with sales and marketing, supply chain, finance, corporate governance and other functions on business requirements and expectations
  • Participate and provide project update to project steering committees
  • Effectively apply Borouge ‘s methodology and enforces Project standards
  • Minimize our exposure and risk on the project
  • Coordinate project activities with regulatory body or other key associations
  • Manage the Project budget
  • Prepare the organization to build up an effective operative system for Project execution and new business setup
  • Follow up the project portfolio by means of monitoring and evaluation plan including Key Performance Indicators and Intermediate Outcome Indicators for progress tracking


  • Manage and develop the Project Team
  • Challenge others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor
  • Manage the development of the Project Team by ensuring, when possible, that Project tasks are in line with each members' career interests
  • Inspire co workers to attain goals and pursue excellence
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change
  • Remain on the forefront of emerging industry practices


  • Effectively contribute as Project Team member to the overall cross-functional project team with other external stakeholders, including Abu Dhabi Polymer Company (ADP), and owners, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Borealis

Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Mastery of English at business level
  • Native speaking in key major countries in Asia Pacific (e.g. China, India) is a plus
  • 15 to 20 years experience in sales and market development
  • Industry veteran of olefin, polyolefin and liquid chemcials (C4 and Benzene stream), and overall petrochemical market
  • Experience in managing multiple growth and investment projects
  • Excellent project management knowledge and handle project budget
  • Technology knowledge and well experienced in the polyolefin and liquid chemicals
  • Recognized for sound decision making and for not being conflict avoiding
  • Recognized as high performing, successful manager of change, complexity, diversity and risks
  • Proven leadership experience in leading growth and investment projects in petrochemical industry
  • Prior sales and market development experience in petrochemical industry
  • Demonstrated business leadership, project management and commercial abilities
  • Demonstrated strategic business development capability to define business roadmap, with experience growing business from feasibility stage into realization stage
  • Recognized for setting direction, engaging and applying consequences
  • Recognized for proficiency in providing coaching and feedback and creating a winning team culture
  • Communication and negotiation capability
  • Networking skills
  • Effective coaching and feedback skills
  • Advanced skills in presentation, coaching and communication
