Please be aware that Borouge has been receiving notices from candidates seeking clarification of job offers and recruitment propositions they receive. These job offers come from organisations or individuals who are falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of the Abu Dhabi Polymers Company (Borouge) or by people claiming to work for, or are affiliated, to Borouge. In return, they ask the recipients of the job offers to transfer a significant sum of money to pay for certain employment requirements such as visa, etc.

Please note that neither Borouge nor any of the legal organisations that recruit on our behalf ask for any money or payments from applicants at any point throughout the recruitment process. All the successful individuals who have been directly or indirectly provided with job offers from Borouge are always required to go through a formal recruitment process. All communications with this regard should originate from a verifiable Borouge email address (borouge.com) and not from an internet email addresses such as hotmail, yahoo or others.

About the job

The jobholder is responsible to manage the short-to-medium term business exceptions on demand and allocation in line with Sales & Operations (S&OP) business rules, while alignment with inputs from the Market Centre (MC), Business Center (BC) and the Regions to the Supply Chain Management (SCM).

Alongside, this role participates in the Tactical and Strategic planning process to support Marketing Centre strategies to achieve Borouge objectives, and facilitates expedient decision-making exercise and coordinates mitigation plans during major business critical situations.

Demand Planning Control

The role is responsible to coordinate the short-to-medium term demand plan which serves as a primary input to tactical.

  • Lead the Monthly Demand Review meeting with the Regional Demand teams.  Collaborate to drive overall improvements on demand forecast accuracy and bias with special emphasis on Partner customers.

  • Analyse and report order income performance of the current month. Initiate corrective actions through the Weekly Demand & Supply review meeting to maximize sales volume and revenue by timely redistribution of unconsumed allocations to the most profitable regions.

  • Monitor various market demand signals (pricing, socio-economic, geopolitical, and weather, etc.) to realign production plans in a timely manner to further optimize asset utilization.

  • Improve Demand and Sales Planning Accuracy and come up with action plan to close the gap between customer demand and actual sales especially for Partner Customer.

  • Ensure S&OP output fully supports business objectives and market strategy and in case of short or long market, propose best demand scenarios that support the business, minimize the impact to Borouge and maximize the benefits

  • Coordinate closely with the region to maximize selling the allocation in the short term and the return to Borouge by driving the reallocation between the regions and offering the volume at the best suitable time (price peak).

  • Continuously monitor the market situation and send timely signals to the supply team to adjust their production plan in a way that maximizes the benefits to Borouge 

Support Market Centre (MC) Strategy

The role requires fundamental understanding of MC strategies.

  • Comply with MC strategies by endorsing key priorities and aligning with Supply team prior to releasing new production plan.

  • Effectively participate in S&OP key business meetings to direct attention and drive action for gap resolutions to achieve Business Plan objectives.

Business Excellence

This role contributes to a successful execution of the end-to-end S&OP process.

  • Propose recommendations to SCM on alternative allocation scenarios to take advantage on certain market opportunities or to address short or long market situations either for value or strategic gains.

  • Facilitate analytical support on demand forecasts, actuals and production plans to both MC and Region to convey key alert messages and recommendations.

  • Lead S&OP development projects and initiatives.

Business Exceptions – Exception handling process during short term (M0-M3)

The role assumes responsibility to manage demand fulfilment during short or long market situation.

  • Drive and implement top-down allocation decisions to optimum business results in consultation with BC and MC decision/strategy during excess/shortage in supply, market expansion and contraction, drastic market pricing movements.

  • Facilitate prompt resolutions – thru close coordination with Regions and BC – on new risks/opportunities or deviations against Sales plan through the Weekly Demand & Supply review.

Product Life Cycle Management

  • New product launches are critical strategic initiatives to grow the business and to penetrate new business segments. This role contributes to the successful product launch and phase-out of outgoing products.

  • Lead collaborative efforts with cross-functional teams – MC and Regions – to define initial volume allocations for new grades and determine depletion plans for outgoing grades.

  • Execute timely communication with Regions to reflect phase-in/phase-out demand. Monitor relevant production plans to comply with these demands.

 Inventory Management

The role contributes to the management of inventory at agreed service levels at different inventory holding points necessary to support the Regions’ sales objectives.

  • Participate in defining inventory holding policy to align with MC directives.

  • Provide aging inventory report with recommendations for depletion of critical aging, end lots, other blocked stocks to MC and Region to eliminate aging inventories and reduce working capital

About you

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in working with demand planning.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership/ managerial role.

  • Knowledgeable of Polyolefins product range and applications.

  • Extensive knowledge of S&OP processes, statistical forecasting.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • University degree in Industrial Engineering / Statistics / Commerce or relevant disciplines.

  • Certified APICS, SCOR is an advantage

  • General Knowledge in Quality Management Systems, Policies & Procedures.

  • Good knowledge in (MS Office, SAP APO / R3 / BW).

  • Knowledge in building up Business Models, Scenarios, and Statistics.

Professional Certifications

  • Professional certification in Supply Chain (like CSCP) would be of advantage

  • Professional certification in Project Management (like PMP), and Process improvement (like Six Sigma Black Belt) would be of advantage
