Recruitment fraud and scam alert

Please be aware that Borouge has been receiving notices from candidates seeking clarification of job offers and recruitment propositions they receive. These job offers come from organisations or individuals who are falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of the Abu Dhabi Polymers Company (Borouge) or by people claiming to work for, or are affiliated, to Borouge. In return, they ask the recipients of the job offers to transfer a significant sum of money to pay for certain employment requirements such as visa, etc.

Please note that neither Borouge nor any of the legal organisations that recruit on our behalf ask for any money or payments from applicants at any point throughout the recruitment process. All the successful individuals who have been directly or indirectly provided with job offers from Borouge are always required to go through a formal recruitment process. All communications with this regard should originate from a verifiable Borouge email address (borouge.com) and not from an internet email addresses such as hotmail, yahoo or others.

What you need to do…

• Do not respond to unsolicited job offers from organisations or email addresses that you do not know or trust especially when you have not applied nor gone through any interview with Borouge yet

• Do not disclose your personal or financial details to anyone you do not know or trust or on a website you are not familiar with

• Be aware and look out for suspicious signs such as communications from non-Borouge email addresses, poor use of English and materials and requests for fees or money

About The Role Reporting to Senior Advisor, CEO Office, you will be responsible to lead the development of the digital strategy for Borouge by understanding the various business models within Borouge and make connections into how IT and digitalization can support the business and bring improvements in effectiveness and efficiency. You are expected to lead development efforts around technology solutioning and work in close partnership with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver digital project objectives, while ensuring that project outputs, application landscape and standards are developed in compliance to Borouge’s overall digital architecture and operability.
Key Accountabilities

Digital Strategy & Plan

  • Define and develop Borouge’s short and long-term digital business strategy in alignment with the overall Borouge corporate and strategic direction
  • Develop Borouge's annual digital plan and budget by coordinating with various function heads to benchmark and set key targets, and regularly track performance to identify areas of improvement
  • Provide technical expertise and thought leadership to the business and senior leadership in order to deliver tangible business improvements through generating actionable plans and managing execution
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners (e.g. technology vendors, academic institutions, etc.)
  • Keep abreast of the latest digital trends and applications, and identify applicable opportunities that drive business improvement via digital transformations 

 Digital Governance

  • Develop, define, and update Borouge’s digital architecture, application landscape and architectural reference models and standards
  • Set up the digital governance framework for Borouge to guide and integrate the adoption and use of digital technologies, and ensure that project actions are in compliance with the digital framework
  • Ensure consistency in both technical and application designs in compliance with architectural requirements
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops across various functions and project teams to communicate guiding principles and governance structure
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to project teams to define and validate digital architecture and interoperability of proposed solutions

Digital Portfolio & Project Management

  • Build and maintain project implementation plans for each initiative, by working closely with cross-functional project teams and IT to deliver digital business solutions
  • Define project deliverables, metrics, and success criteria and ensure implementation plan meets targets while remaining within budgetary constraints
  • Provide implementation advisory and support to project teams on implementation of initiatives and troubleshooting of any issues that may arise
  • Monitor and report progress of projects and initiatives, enabling sponsors and senior leadership to have visibility and sufficient information to make decisions as required
  • Act as the custodian of all digital initiatives across the relevant functions, and identify learnings to be adopted in subsequent initiatives
  • Act as a subject matter expert for all issues relating to digital architecture and standards (e.g. functionality, business alignment, networks and infrastructure, etc.) and provide advisory services to the business and project teams, identifying opportunities for rationalisation and alignment.
  • Keep abreast of changes in technology, industry, and market trends to provide guidance to project teams on delivering sustainable and leading edge digital solutions

  • Project sponsors and key stakeholders of digital projects and IT as required
  • All other internal functions and stakeholders as required

  • All external stakeholders as required (e.g. vendors, consultants, etc.)

 

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field from an accredited and reputable university
  • MBA preferred

Minimum Knowledge, Experience & Skills

  • At least 10 years of relevant working experiences
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing digital solutions in a business corporation or digital studio
  • Prior working experience in digital consulting is an advantage
  • Knowledge of petrochemical industry is an advantage

Professional Certification

  • Any related professional certifications around Project Management, Digital Transformation, or Enterprise Architecture will be an advantage
