Recruitment fraud and scam alert

Please be aware that Borouge has been receiving notices from candidates seeking clarification of job offers and recruitment propositions they receive. These job offers come from organisations or individuals who are falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of the Abu Dhabi Polymers Company (Borouge) or by people claiming to work for, or are affiliated, to Borouge. In return, they ask the recipients of the job offers to transfer a significant sum of money to pay for certain employment requirements such as visa, etc.

Please note that neither Borouge nor any of the legal organisations that recruit on our behalf ask for any money or payments from applicants at any point throughout the recruitment process. All the successful individuals who have been directly or indirectly provided with job offers from Borouge are always required to go through a formal recruitment process. All communications with this regard should originate from a verifiable Borouge email address (borouge.com) and not from an internet email addresses such as hotmail, yahoo or others.

What you need to do…

• Do not respond to unsolicited job offers from organisations or email addresses that you do not know or trust especially when you have not applied nor gone through any interview with Borouge yet

• Do not disclose your personal or financial details to anyone you do not know or trust or on a website you are not familiar with

• Be aware and look out for suspicious signs such as communications from non-Borouge email addresses, poor use of English and materials and requests for fees or money

About the Role

Reporting to VP, Finance, you will be the lead controller in Borouge PTE, leading the Business Controlling organisation. You are responsible for setting the strategic direction of the function, aligned with the corporate strategic objectives, and contributing to the overall Finance and business objectives. You are also responsible for steering the processes of Reporting, Business Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting, Investments and KPI cascading and tracking in the Borouge PTE organization as part of the Performance Management process, leading the team to provide advice and meaningful insights to provide a solid basis for decision making. You will oversee the end to end process of above listed processes including the preparation of all related communication material (financials, forecasts and business plans, business cases, etc.) for the PTE Executive Team and the Board.

In addition, you will lead and drive Finance projects and are the key finance advisor involved in strategic projects in Borouge PTE. You are part of the Borouge Finance Leadership Team and are directly responsible for all sales and marketing controlling on regional and marketing centre basis. This includes supply chain controlling, business centre controlling, innovation controlling and operations controlling for compounding.

Key Accountabilities

Leadership & General Management

  • Formulate and lead the implementation of the Business Controlling strategy and plans to support the Finance strategic objectives of Borouge PTE and the overall corporate objectives
  • Build the credibility for the business controlling function within Borouge PTE, by driving insightful and value add analyses and reporting produced by the team, and advise the business from a financial perspective, contributing to the different business function’s overall strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with various internal and external parties in the execution of the functions
  • Collaborate and partnering with department heads across the business and various internal and external parties of the functions to drive key decision making
  • May be required to lead Finance Projects or act as key financial advisor in Business driven projects
  • Attend regular finance forums/meetings both internally and externally in an attempt to gather useful knowledge and insight that can be applied within the business controlling function and the larger finance department
  • Liaise with senior finance department personnel (PTE, ADP, Borealis, & ADNOC) in deciding on processes and procedures to apply in the department and across the entire business.

Business Planning & Reporting

  • Lead and oversee the annual Business Plan for Borouge PTE Group of Companies i.e. planning, coordinating, executing and documenting within the area of responsibility (i.e. Regions, Marketing Centres, Compound Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business Centre and Innovation)
  • Develop and set consistent reporting and analytical frameworks, covering key financial metrics, and function specific requirements, to drive and deliver meaningful analyses and reporting
  • Oversee the preparation of Monthly Business Reports, ensuring timeliness and quality, and interacting closely across the organization to understand underlying business drivers and issues and accurately reflect the status of the business for key decision makers
  • Oversee the consolidated business reporting and presentation of financial performance
  • Proactive monitoring of business results and recommendation of corrective actions
  • Advise and support the CEO/CFO on questions / issues related to Executive Team and Owners

Investment Process

  • Owner of the investment process for Borouge Pte Group of Companies, overseeing the governance and the investment process
  • Oversee and direct the planning, forecasting and monthly reporting of overall investment development and key projects at the group level to the Board and Executive Team, advising CFO on portfolio scopes, pipelines and ways to optimise return on investments

People Management

  • Responsible for building talent across the business controlling function 
  • Play a mentorship role, supporting their continuous professional growth and grooming subordinates for future succession planning
  • Effectively plan and organise the operations and workflows of the team to optimize productivity and efficiencies within the processes
  • Provide the team clear guidance and support, as necessary, to enable and empower the members to achieve desired and required outcome
  • Anticipate the manpower needs of function and initiate and participate in recruitment of additional staff as required
  • Manage the training budget and the training needs of the function to ensure continual professional development and up to date knowledge of all relevant legislation and regulatory updates across the regions

Internal Communications & Working Relationships

  • Borouge Executive Team, especially the CEO and CFO
  • Leadership team of Internal Business Functions such as Regions, Marketing Centres, Supply Chain, Business Centre, Innovation Centre and CMP leadership

Experience & Qualifications

Minimum Qualification

  • University degree in Finance or Accounting, Masters or MBA preferred

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience from multinational companies, headquarter experience preferred
  • Prior experience in a similar management position, particularly leading a global or regional team
  • Proven track record in managing multicultural finance teams
  • Experience from the chemicals / petrochemicals industry is preferred by not a requirement
  • Fluency in English is required

Professional Certifications

  • CMA qualification or equivalent preferred
