About the job:

The Techncial Group (TG) unit has been established as the Engineering and Technical organisation for Borouge, which is mainly based in Ruwais.  TG as the Engineering and Technical Services organisation and has business process ownership of Asset Integrity; Process Safety Management; Inspection; Project Engineering, Delivery (value up to $50 million) and Execution; Technical Authority Governance and Support; and Asset Development. Additionally, TG is the custodian of the Company Technical Standards and Procedures.

  • Overlooking all civil/ structural related Plant Modification Projects, raised through Change Requisition by mainly Operations (olefin and polyolefin) and other departments.
  • Providing civil/ structural discipline input to team member in other discipline (Electrical / Inst. & Control / Mechanical projects) as required.
  • Coordinating and obtaining other disciplines and concerned parties inputs required to complete the assigned tasks including PMPs.
  • Providing detailed studies and proposals to the client / requesting department for pre-project, detail design and construction purposes.
  • Coordinating with various departmental interfaces to finalize and agree on the final solution to plant operation problems related to projects.
  • Preparing work scope for the consultant, Reviews the design works and studies performed by Engineering Consultants and ensure that they are in accordance with the technical requirements. Review and approve drawings, specifications and technical; documents for all Instruments/Control design related work.
  • Carrying-out technical bid clarifications, assessments and evaluations on tendered equipment, engineering services and projects/studies.
About you:

As a successful candidate you will have:

  • Possesses Civil engineering bachelor's degree (12+4 years).
  • 8-10 Years of work experience in civil/ structural equipment specification and installation in an oil/gas/petrochemical Industry (as project/ design engineer). Previous experience in project management for small to medium projects is also required.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant international standards and project management.
  • Be fluent in English (Written / Spoken) and having good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills. Team work within the team and across departments.
  • Computer skills are mandatory. Able to use design software's like STAAD Pro, SAP  ETABS or equivalent and PDS or Micro station is preferable in addition to the standard MS office applications.
  • Cultural sensitivity.
