Role Purpose:

The jobholder will support the operations team in troubleshooting and improving machines and processes, mainly related to the compounding process and its supporting processes. Typical tasks are optimization of extruder settings, feeder performance, pelletizing and pneumatic conveying, variable production costs, root cause analysis for equipment failure, process upsets, claims and complaints, and training to the operations crew. The process engineer is also a “middleman” between operators and engineers/external contacts. He builds up his own knowledge on the process, but also integrates knowledge from the operations team into the problem solving and optimization.

Responsibility:

Key role in supporting smooth production in a safe, high-quality way
Prepare and update manuals and procedures for the compounding operations.
Prepare training material, participate in, and give training.
Support or lead trouble shooting or technical investigations in cooperation colleagues and third party members.
Plan performance test runs and report.
Claim investigations for process equipment.
Part of the time it will be necessary to work outside normal working hours or in shift.

Requirements:

Problem-solving skills, organization, presentation
Graduated engineer chemical/ electro/mechanical
At least 5 years of relevant experience
Good knowledge of PP (compounding) extrusion operations.
Team work and cooperation
Good proficiency in written and spoken English
Good communication skills
Interest in working in an international/ multicultural context
