Recruitment fraud and scam alert

Please be aware that Borouge has been receiving notices from candidates seeking clarification of job offers and recruitment propositions they receive. These job offers come from organisations or individuals who are falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of the Abu Dhabi Polymers Company (Borouge) or by people claiming to work for, or are affiliated, to Borouge. In return, they ask the recipients of the job offers to transfer a significant sum of money to pay for certain employment requirements such as visa, etc.

Please note that neither Borouge nor any of the legal organisations that recruit on our behalf ask for any money or payments from applicants at any point throughout the recruitment process. All the successful individuals who have been directly or indirectly provided with job offers from Borouge are always required to go through a formal recruitment process. All communications with this regard should originate from a verifiable Borouge email address (borouge.com) and not from an internet email addresses such as hotmail, yahoo or others.

What you need to do…

• Do not respond to unsolicited job offers from organisations or email addresses that you do not know or trust especially when you have not applied nor gone through any interview with Borouge yet

• Do not disclose your personal or financial details to anyone you do not know or trust or on a website you are not familiar with

• Be aware and look out for suspicious signs such as communications from non-Borouge email addresses, poor use of English and materials and requests for fees or money

About the Job

Role Purpose:

To aim for the new projects/facilities and continuous improvement in the maintenance of the electrical/instrumentation field in a systematic and methodical way. Direct, supervises and provides specialized technical guidance and support on the installation, maintenance, repair, trouble-shooting and modification activities in this area.Support maintenance manager for overall maintenance and project management.

Prepares statement of requirements for new projects.


· Key role in organizing safe commissioning and start up of plant equipment.

· Prepares maintenance technical manuals and procedures to start the plant in a safe and cost-effective manner.

· Prepares detailed equipment checklists for routine maintenance and the estimation of detailed manpower and skill requirement, follows up on work progress and advises on spare parts replacement, refurbishment etc.

· Develops monitoring programmes for major electrical /instrumentation items, including operational guidance on equipment observations and failures analysis. Uses this information to analyse equipment failures and advise on remedial measures.

· Discusses work orders with initiators and technical staff and recommends best method of resolving the problem. For more complex faults, personally handles diagnosis and repair of equipment.

· Supervises the work of engineering contractors to ensure that they are in accordance with the scope of work. Approves drawings, specifications and other technical documents for all types of projects incorporating the comments and requirements of the operating centre.

· Manage the day-to-day maintenance of the all installations in respective discipline.

· Responsible for the achievement of HSE&Q performance targets focusing on continuous improvements in this area.

· Establish, propose for approval and follow up fixed costs and investment budget for respective area

· Set up and manage an appropriate Data management system supporting the plant maintenance activities in the respective discipline.

· Deliver technical monthly report for respective discipline.



S1. Education

· Graduate (MS or PhD) in electro-mechanical engineering or a related discipline

S2. Experience

· Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in the field.

· Knowledge of polymer industry

· Good knowledge of maintenance methods and tools

· Proven experience in relationship / scientific network building

· Planning, prioritisation, communication (oral & written), presentation, accuracy, coaching and feedback.

· Good communication in English (reading, writing, speaking)

· Good IT skills

· Good commercial understanding and interest in business value
