Recruitment fraud and scam alert

Please be aware that Borouge has been receiving notices from candidates seeking clarification of job offers and recruitment propositions they receive. These job offers come from organisations or individuals who are falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of the Abu Dhabi Polymers Company (Borouge) or by people claiming to work for, or are affiliated, to Borouge. In return, they ask the recipients of the job offers to transfer a significant sum of money to pay for certain employment requirements such as visa, etc.

Please note that neither Borouge nor any of the legal organisations that recruit on our behalf ask for any money or payments from applicants at any point throughout the recruitment process. All the successful individuals who have been directly or indirectly provided with job offers from Borouge are always required to go through a formal recruitment process. All communications with this regard should originate from a verifiable Borouge email address (borouge.com) and not from an internet email addresses such as hotmail, yahoo or others.

What you need to do…

• Do not respond to unsolicited job offers from organisations or email addresses that you do not know or trust especially when you have not applied nor gone through any interview with Borouge yet

• Do not disclose your personal or financial details to anyone you do not know or trust or on a website you are not familiar with

• Be aware and look out for suspicious signs such as communications from non-Borouge email addresses, poor use of English and materials and requests for fees or money

About the job


The overarching responsibility of the job holder will be to manage HR operations across Asia North, ensure achievement of key HR deliverables and performance metrics.

Overseeing a group of HR specialists, the job holder is expected to build a strong partnership with business management, lead, develop and build the HR team to ensure effective implementation of HR policies, procedures and systems, provide timely and quality services to support HR management activities in the region.

The challenge to this role is to continuously define and drive initiatives that streamline and improve the HR processes and to perform change management for implementation of solutions.



         Oversee and Manage HR Operations Deliveries

  • Establish good understandings on company policies and procedures, translate into HR implementations in an error-free and timely manner

  • Ensure the organization is complying with relevant legal and external requirements that allow Borouge to run its activities without interruption

  • Review and streamline HR processes on areas of improvements / standardizations to bring efficiency, effectiveness and compliances into HR operations

  • Develop and monitor Standard HR Operating Procedures to ensure high quality and consistent practices across HR team

  • Monitor the implementation and utilization of HR SAP system,  recommend enhancements / customizations to meet HR reporting needs

  • Oversee payroll operations of Asia North area, develop plans and systems to ensure prompt / accurate payment of salaries

  • Ensure audit observations are promptly investigated and responded within the stipulated timeline

  • Direct and Supervise the Employee Relations Activities

  • Plan, direct and control the activities of employee relations function to ensure HR services are provided promptly and efficiently to all Borouge employees in a standardized and uniform manne
  • Directs and investigates grievances, conducts disciplinary interviews and ensure all disciplinary actions are fully documented

  • Monitor HR speed of response to employee queries, escalate as appropriate to improve front line services and support

  • Oversee benefits management processes, advice and process complex queries / requests on benefits matters in Asia North

    Provide Tactical Expertise and Advices to Business Leaders

    • Drive communication to business leaders on changes in HR service delivery model and garner support and buy-in for new HR initiatives

    • Provide consultation to business leaders to ensure fair and consistent interpretation and application of company HR procedures and guidelines

    • Partner  with the business leaders in the implementation of HR initiatives and support them in their decision-making process on people and organization

          Lead HR Project Implementation

  • Undertake special projects and initiatives to achieve more efficient and compliant operations

  • Assign resources to the projects, perform change management to implement solutions. Report progress and solutions to project owners.

  • People Management

         Allocate resources and set priorities of HR activities

         Provide clear, concise guidance and instruction to team. Coach, mentor and develop team members to continually achieve high performances

About you




  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources or relevant disciplines

  • Well-versed in employment laws and HR practices across Asia North area especially labor law in China & local government regulation

  • Display good business acumen for constructive advisory to key stakeholders


  • Minimum 5 - 8 years of relevant HR experience in the region, preferably with people management experiences

  • Good understanding of HR fundamentals and its application / implications in respective local markets

  • Experiences in driving process improvements and change management will be preferred

Skills & Attributes

  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills with ability to build constructive working relationships with stakeholders

  • Forward thinker with excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Fluent Mandarin skill in reading, speaking and writing

  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with good Excel and data analysis skills

  • Self-starter, meticulous to details and with a service oriented mindset

  • Able to demonstrate problem solving skills and development of effective solutions

  • Ability to work on tight deadlines with multiple priorities, and across multiple countries
