Recruitment fraud and scam alert

Please be aware that Borouge has been receiving notices from candidates seeking clarification of job offers and recruitment propositions they receive. These job offers come from organisations or individuals who are falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of the Abu Dhabi Polymers Company (Borouge) or by people claiming to work for, or are affiliated, to Borouge. In return, they ask the recipients of the job offers to transfer a significant sum of money to pay for certain employment requirements such as visa, etc.

Please note that neither Borouge nor any of the legal organisations that recruit on our behalf ask for any money or payments from applicants at any point throughout the recruitment process. All the successful individuals who have been directly or indirectly provided with job offers from Borouge are always required to go through a formal recruitment process. All communications with this regard should originate from a verifiable Borouge email address (borouge.com) and not from an internet email addresses such as hotmail, yahoo or others.

What you need to do…

• Do not respond to unsolicited job offers from organisations or email addresses that you do not know or trust especially when you have not applied nor gone through any interview with Borouge yet

• Do not disclose your personal or financial details to anyone you do not know or trust or on a website you are not familiar with

• Be aware and look out for suspicious signs such as communications from non-Borouge email addresses, poor use of English and materials and requests for fees or money

About the job

Reporting to the Cataloguing Section Head, you will be part of the Materials Management team and will be responsible for: 

  • Ensuring timely, accurate and comprehensive catalogues of material master data for all specs, standards, tests and relevant information for purchasing specific items which enables efficient communication between plant end users and purchasing team.
  • Acting as front-line position in material management processes for providing excellent customer service to the plant materials owners.
  • Developing, maintaining and verifying the Material Master Data technical specifications all materials handled by Borouge warehouses.
  • Implementing material standardization and identify material interchangeably to reduce the number of stock Items.
  • Updating the Procurement description of the materials to increase the procurement process of these items.
  • Managing and operating the information in the catalogues of material master data, analyze existing and new materials’ specs and standards to identify better items grouping or classification. And recommend system changes to support cataloguing activities.
  • Identifying a full set of specs throughout intervening with the item owner, at the same time of being consistent and aware of system usage.
  • Reading and interacting with diverse range of materials and their data sheets. 
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the line manager/management


About you

As a successful candidate you will have:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or relevant courses
  • At least 5 years work experience in the oil, gas or petrochemical industry, including 3 years in the same role.
  • Certified certification in CSCP, MMIM is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience in B-SPIR
  • Hands-on experience and knowledge in developing and maintaining the Material Master Data and cataloguing practices for Electrical and Instrument spare parts and other materials stored in the warehouse; implementing material standardization and identify material interchangeability
  • Ability to read manuals, data sheets, and technical specs
  • Ability to speak, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Excellent analytical & leadership skills
  • Excellent team player
  • Proficient in the use of computer, i.e. MS Office, CMMS - SAP
