Recruitment fraud and scam alert

Please be aware that Borouge has been receiving notices from candidates seeking clarification of job offers and recruitment propositions they receive. These job offers come from organisations or individuals who are falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of the Abu Dhabi Polymers Company (Borouge) or by people claiming to work for, or are affiliated, to Borouge. In return, they ask the recipients of the job offers to transfer a significant sum of money to pay for certain employment requirements such as visa, etc.

Please note that neither Borouge nor any of the legal organisations that recruit on our behalf ask for any money or payments from applicants at any point throughout the recruitment process. All the successful individuals who have been directly or indirectly provided with job offers from Borouge are always required to go through a formal recruitment process. All communications with this regard should originate from a verifiable Borouge email address (borouge.com) and not from an internet email addresses such as hotmail, yahoo or others.

What you need to do…

• Do not respond to unsolicited job offers from organisations or email addresses that you do not know or trust especially when you have not applied nor gone through any interview with Borouge yet

• Do not disclose your personal or financial details to anyone you do not know or trust or on a website you are not familiar with

• Be aware and look out for suspicious signs such as communications from non-Borouge email addresses, poor use of English and materials and requests for fees or money

Key Accountabilities

This role reports to the VP, SEA. 

 

Strategy & Governance:

  • Help to developing medium to long term plans for the presence of rep office
  • Help develop resource plan including staffing, budget etc.
  • Help develop and execute annual Business Plan
  • Conduct business development activities consistent with MC strategies — identify potential alliance opportunities
  • Report key industry, market, competitive and customer developments to HQ
  • Report relevant changes in government policies, e.g., on tariff, plastics ban etc..to HQ
  • Ensuring the business practices in the country and offices are aligned with company policy, process and procedures and country regulations

  

People:

  • Manage day-to-day operational activities of Rep Office, including supervision, coaching and development of local staff

 

Customer Relationship:

  • Customer relationship with different level
  • As the most senior in Rep Office, represent Borouge's overall and long-term interest in the country and champion the following activities:

(a)    Market development

(b)   Help influence industry standards for various business segments in Borouge's favor

 

Key Interfaces:

  • Work with Regional Sales Management to align customer strategy
  • Work with Marketing Centers to align application and product strategies
  • Work with Supply Chain to deliver competitive service model/level to customers and customer demand
  • Work with other functions as deemed appropriate, e.g. International Affairs, corporate governance

Qualifications
  • University degree or diploma in Chemical Engineering
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in petrochemical industry is a must
Experience
  • Managerial and people leadership (development/supervision skills)
  • Good knowledge of local customers’ buying influence, decision making process and understanding of uncertainty
  • Good knowledge of products and applications
  • Good knowledge of marketing strategy, value chain and sales cycle
  • Good understanding of local PO market environment and factors influencing demand and profitability
  • Good knowledge of selling and sales management techniques
  • Good financial literacy
  • Basic SAP skills
  • Understanding of local culture
  • Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Competence in standard office software
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Excellent proficiency in native language

Experience:
