Recruitment fraud and scam alert

Please be aware that Borouge has been receiving notices from candidates seeking clarification of job offers and recruitment propositions they receive. These job offers come from organisations or individuals who are falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of the Abu Dhabi Polymers Company (Borouge) or by people claiming to work for, or are affiliated, to Borouge. In return, they ask the recipients of the job offers to transfer a significant sum of money to pay for certain employment requirements such as visa, etc.

Please note that neither Borouge nor any of the legal organisations that recruit on our behalf ask for any money or payments from applicants at any point throughout the recruitment process. All the successful individuals who have been directly or indirectly provided with job offers from Borouge are always required to go through a formal recruitment process. All communications with this regard should originate from a verifiable Borouge email address (borouge.com) and not from an internet email addresses such as hotmail, yahoo or others.

What you need to do…

• Do not respond to unsolicited job offers from organisations or email addresses that you do not know or trust especially when you have not applied nor gone through any interview with Borouge yet

• Do not disclose your personal or financial details to anyone you do not know or trust or on a website you are not familiar with

About The Role Reporting to VP, Marketing Center, Energy, you will be responsible for reviewing and managing short to mid-term product and application development projects, oversee the provision of technical services by the Application Development Team and provide technical leadership internally and externally so as to drive annual business plans, gain strong commitment from key stakeholders and influence the value chain partners.
Key Accountabilities

Lead strategic marketing technical support and application development in the targeted market and application to achieve customers’ satisfaction with Borouge products

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of department policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of Technical Service and Application Development activities so that all relevant procedural/ legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers
  • Contribute to strategic sales and marketing efforts from a technical and value creation perspective
  • Work with Regional Management to ensure Application Development resources are continuously optimized in order to keep/improve competitive edge over time balancing existing/future needs/potential
  • Responsible for the final interpretation and reporting of technical work and conclusions to customers
  • Lead the team in developing next generation products with key customers and other supply chain partners
  • Approve final reporting of technical work and conclusions to customers, and where appropriate present at conferences, seminars, etc
  • Collaborate with management and across other disciplines to define technical specifications
  • Develop commercial and technical contacts within the polymers and rubber industry and with co-suppliers, to ensure appropriate technical co-operation, to gather information and to enhance the reputation of Borouge. Provide a technical link between these industries and marketing, innovation and product management

Lead and motivate the application development and team to achieve performance

  • Set objectives and direction for Annual Business Plan
  • Take ownership of application development for major portfolio including determining overall prices/premium, volumes, budget and resources
  • Provide leadership direction, motivation and performance management to overall portfolio team in order to ensure that a high level of performance is achieved
  • Communicate strategies with regional sales team to gain their commitment for marketing centre
  • Use product benchmarks to develop and manage full application development product portfolio

Influence and manage Value Chain Partners to position and promote Borouge products

  • Represent Borouge as a senior member of the organization in external events, e.g. delivery of key note speeches in external conference
  • Maintain strong partnership with value chain partners to proactively drive forward the relationship to optimize products and maximize sales growth
  • Ambassadors of Borouge products. Drive key messages which support the business and future product development

Develop technical standards to manage the Product Technical Services Team in troubleshooting customers’ technical issues

  • Develop and maintain the technical standards of the team
  • Supervise the work of Technical Services facilitating and tracking project status; identifying problems and issues; allocating appropriate resources; and ensuring that technical support services are completed on schedule and at the highest levels of quality. Assists staff in the delivery of technical services as necessary and appropriate
  • Manage Technical Services activities to ensure that Technical Services assets are utilized in line with business long term strategy, short term priorities and cost budgets
  • Administer the Technical Services Division budget and assist in the preparation of operating and project budgets; forecast additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitors and approves expenditures; and implement mid-year adjustments
  • Provide resources for agreed development projects to ensure that they achieve the end result that is specified, and that the process is adhered to ensuring appropriate co-ordination with Innovation team and participating personally where appropriate
  • Final responsibility for the documentation, effective communications and quality of Technical Services support provided by his group

Oversee the performance of Technical Services and drive innovation in product developments to achieve customers’ satisfaction and build relationships

  • Ensure Technical Services resolve customer technical inquiries, complaints and claims in line with agreed Borouge procedures, service excellence and at appropriate cost to the business
  • Strong champion for innovation for the company and drive customer-lead product developments
  • Lead machinery manufacturer strategy

Provide strong managerial and technical leadership within and outside Borouge to drive strategy, compliance and expert’s views

  • Drive strategy at all levels of value chain and drive changes to MC strategy based on value chain engagement
  • Inspirational leader in relationships that enhance MC stature within Borouge and the value chain
  • Drive compliance of ADE Organization to Borouge rules and ethics
  • Strategy maker based on market knowledge, root cause analysis of problems and situational awareness
  • Provide direction and leadership to the ADE team and coach members/leaders of adjacent departments
  • Valued thought leader in value chain
  • Identify, initiate and drive change programs. Leader of corporate change initiatives
  • Drive collaborative teamwork across different functions and throughout value chain
  • Participate in international conferences as a Technical Expert from Borouge to promote on the company’s product portfolio in international markets in liaison with marketing to establish brand awareness and achieve strategic business objectives
  • Consistently publish in technical / trade journals, write white papers on chosen technical expertise, speak at industry events
  • Act as an expert in copyrights, patents and product strategies to assist in resolving Borouge’s complex and unique problems with significant impact on the business
  • Influence international authorities on development and establishment of technical standards and codes to facilitate continuous improvement of technical standards globally

 


Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualification

  • University degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent science / engineering degree
  • Preferably, M.Sc. degree in Polymer Chemistry / Technology / Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • Fluency in English
  • Thorough commercial understanding and interest in business value in the respected business area
  • Knowledge in operating computer, Microsoft Office, Windows and Internet Exploring
  • Basic understanding of intellectual rights
  • Good knowledge of products development commercialisation process
  • Good knowledge of corporate strategy
  • Extensive knowledge of application specific value chain
  • Extensive knowledge of Borouge procedures and systems

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • 12-15 years of total experience in wire & cable industry, included but not limited to testing institution, certification body, power cable manufacturing and value chain utility companies
  • 5 years of Sr. Product Owner or Sr. Application Development Engineer experience
  • Competence in application of standard office software
  • Good project management skills
  • Good facilitation and coaching skills
  • Good reporting and documentation skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Strong internal and external networking skills
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills 
  • Commercial awareness of Borouge’s business
  • Team leadership skills
