Recruitment fraud and scam alert

Please be aware that Borouge has been receiving notices from candidates seeking clarification of job offers and recruitment propositions they receive. These job offers come from organisations or individuals who are falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of the Abu Dhabi Polymers Company (Borouge) or by people claiming to work for, or are affiliated, to Borouge. In return, they ask the recipients of the job offers to transfer a significant sum of money to pay for certain employment requirements such as visa, etc.

Please note that neither Borouge nor any of the legal organisations that recruit on our behalf ask for any money or payments from applicants at any point throughout the recruitment process. All the successful individuals who have been directly or indirectly provided with job offers from Borouge are always required to go through a formal recruitment process. All communications with this regard should originate from a verifiable Borouge email address (borouge.com) and not from an internet email addresses such as hotmail, yahoo or others.

What you need to do…

• Do not respond to unsolicited job offers from organisations or email addresses that you do not know or trust especially when you have not applied nor gone through any interview with Borouge yet

• Do not disclose your personal or financial details to anyone you do not know or trust or on a website you are not familiar with

• Be aware and look out for suspicious signs such as communications from non-Borouge email addresses, poor use of English and materials and requests for fees or money

Job Purpose

In order to support the growth strategy of the company and to position compounding plant among the best in class, the incumbent will partner the business in providing rigorous financial analysis, including assessment of business drivers, provision of sales forecasts and evaluation of new product initiatives across the compounding business unit as well as finance advise and business recommendations.

In addition, the incumbent will be actively involved in the refinement and development of analytical models and framework to drive operational efficiency and business growth.

The incumbent will liaise on a frequent basis with numerous stakeholders in plant operations, supply chain, product management, product development, internal audit and with the wider Borouge finance community.

Job Accountability
  1. Drive the planning, forecasting and reporting process in the compounding plant with transparency in the P&L


  2. Enable proper and timely month-end closings by driving improvement actions for reliable data quality and data completeness


  3. Proactively come up with improvement proposals in terms of savings, tools and processes


  4. Track and monitor cost/profit improvement initiatives


  5. Work closely with the Mobility Marketing Centre on sales forecast and profitability of new projects


  6. Collaborate closely with Business Controlling and Strategic Planning in the business planning process


  7. Proactively support and drive the investment process according to approved investment procedure


  8. Assist in investment business case calculations and post investment reviews


  9. Prepare the monthly business review package


  10. Represent Finance in monthly production- and leadership team meetings


  11. Monitor the monthly balanced scorecards and ensure transparency in performance tracking


  12. Drive competitive benchmarking studies


  13. Perform inventory and stocktaking controls


  14. Overseeing financial/cost/inventory accounting and supporting systems implementation


  15. Ad-hoc involvement in feasibility studies, scenario planning, SAP process improvement projects and management reports


  16. Develop on-the-job advanced know-how in specific SAP functionalities and consequently give qualified support to further improvements in SAP related to CO and PS module


  17. Perform price-, margin- and costs analysis
Qualification & Experience

1. Graduate degree preferably in Finance/Accounting

2. Fluent in Chinese and English, both spoken and written

3. 5-10 years working experience in a manufacturing or similar environment

4.  Proven track record in an international and multicultural environment

5.  Industry insights and understanding is a plus

Communication & Working Relationship
  1. Site management, site organisation and MC stakeholders 
  2. Cost Controller, regional accounting team, Business Controlling, internal audit and the finance community at large
  3. External auditor


ps:  should work onsite in the compounding plant in Feng Xian (80%) and Sales&Marketing office in Shanghai (20%)

Summary of key competency
  1. Graduate  degree in economics, finance and/or management accounting

  2. ACCA, CPA, CMA or CIMA preferred

  3. Advanced user of SAP FI/CO-, SAP Business Warehouse-, Excel and PowerPoint

  4. Experience from the chemicals / petrochemicals industry is preferred by not a requirement

  5. 5-10 years working experience in a manufacturing or similar environment

  6. Proven track record in an international and multicultural environment

  7. Fluent in English and Chinese, both spoken and written

  8. Outstanding financial-, planning- and prioritization skills

  9. Excellent communication- and influence skills

  10. Excellent in collecting-, analyzing- and presenting data

  11. Strategic thinker and strong ability to generate insights from data

  12. Team player
