Recruitment fraud and scam alert

Please be aware that Borouge has been receiving notices from candidates seeking clarification of job offers and recruitment propositions they receive. These job offers come from organisations or individuals who are falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of the Abu Dhabi Polymers Company (Borouge) or by people claiming to work for, or are affiliated, to Borouge. In return, they ask the recipients of the job offers to transfer a significant sum of money to pay for certain employment requirements such as visa, etc.

Please note that neither Borouge nor any of the legal organisations that recruit on our behalf ask for any money or payments from applicants at any point throughout the recruitment process. All the successful individuals who have been directly or indirectly provided with job offers from Borouge are always required to go through a formal recruitment process. All communications with this regard should originate from a verifiable Borouge email address (borouge.com) and not from an internet email addresses such as hotmail, yahoo or others.

What you need to do…

• Do not respond to unsolicited job offers from organisations or email addresses that you do not know or trust especially when you have not applied nor gone through any interview with Borouge yet

• Do not disclose your personal or financial details to anyone you do not know or trust or on a website you are not familiar with

• Be aware and look out for suspicious signs such as communications from non-Borouge email addresses, poor use of English and materials and requests for fees or money

Job Purpose

Develop marketing 4P plans, value proposition and implement defined marketing strategies to maximize profits for a specific market, product, application or geographical area through portfolio optimization, product development/ improvement and new application development based on technical expertise within the products, the applications and the value chain, geography, market needs and detailed understanding of customer’s perceived value of Borouge products over what the market competitors are offering.

Job Specific Accountability

Develop marketing plans and implement marketing strategy for the targeted market regions and applications to maximize profits at application level  

  1. Collect market intelligence (focus on mid- to long-term) for assigned applications cluster
  2. Work closely with Head of Regional Marketing to define regional marketing strategy and marketing 4P plans for a set of applications cluster and facilitate alignment from other functions. Define the marketing mix
  3. Lead in customer and application project portfolio and oversee the implementation through leadership expertise in leading regional, global and cross-functional projects
  4. Define, prioritize and select market and customer leads and opportunities through thorough understanding of the value chain and customers, strengths and weakness of products and one’s competitive position
  5. Define and implement marketing communication initiatives and contents

 

Develop products and application solutions to improve and differentiate them so as to meet the needs of the market and customers better

  1. Initiate the development of differentiated products or product improvements based upon defined customer and market needs and work closely with relevant departments to develop products
  2. Co-ordinate and support product development during the different stages of a project to ensure alignment and fit between regional market and customer, act as focal point for the region
  3. Identify patent opportunities
  4. Secure long term business value through patenting and joint customer project contracts
  5. Manage assigned innovation projects, segment strategy, product roadmap/ life cycle and profitability in a project manager role
  6. Manage contracts and work with customers and Business Development Managers to go to clients’ sites and design new products
  7. Work with Product Development Engineers to optimize cost, define pricing, increase profitability and life cycle
  8. Drive the product launch in the region including internal training and external promotion campaigns
  9. Oversee and facilitate the business ramp up with ADEs and Sales Managers for a new product in Year 1 and 2 for the region

 

Manage external value chain relationship, product spec-in and projects

  1. Define value chain mapping for the application, identify the key decision makers, manage and foster the business relationship with key influences in order to support Borouge products and solutions being recognized as favor position and priority choice for the value chain and brand owners
  2. Collaborate closely with ADEs (application development engineer) to develop application specific solutions for new product or new application development projects
  3. Initiate, lead and manage value chain and/or brand owner projects/ initiatives, with coordinated collaboration from internal cross functions 

Generic Accountability

Train the Sales and Application Development teams to deliver their activities successfully

Coach and support the Sales and Application Development teams with sales and marketing tools for a new product and brand launch, facilitate the customer seminars and external marketing events

Communication and Work Relationship

Internal

  1. Participate as proactive member in meetings with other departments (like Innovation Centre, Global Marketing, Demand Planning, Sales, Application Development, Product Owner) to ensure the right customer fit and appropriate product mix
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional team members to gather inputs, suggestions and alignment on the overall marketing strategy for the application and the product

External

  1. Maintain frequent contact with key customers to understand current and future market and customer requirements
  2. Develop liaisons with key players in the value chain
  3. Develop liaisons with relevant industry organizations to gather information, improve image of Borouge and influence industry’s future direction
Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualification

  • University degree
  • MBA or post-graduate qualifications in Marketing will be advantageous

 Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

  1. Minimum 5 to 8 years’ of relevant work experience in technical service, product development, market and application development in plastics packaging or relevant industries
  2. Direct experience in working in leading multinational polyolefin companies, or relevant upstream or downstream value chain would be an advantage
  3. Thorough understanding of the structure and the factors that influence demand and supply, profitability and innovation
  4. Detailed technical and commercial understanding of the products and their applications know-how
  5. Thorough strategic understanding of customers and other value chain members’ needs and the ability to match this with Borouge technical capabilities
  6. Good knowledge of marketing and sales management techniques
  7. Excellent customer relationship management skills
  8. Strong presentation and project management skills
  9. Excellent analytical skills
  10. Fluent in international business English (writing, presentation, spoken and listening)
  11. Mandarin and local China working experience is inevitable.
